Over and over and over again, many times, the Scriptures stress eating unleavened bread for the 7 days of the Feast of Unleavened Bread.
Do you think there is a special blessing in eating unleavened bread for 7 days? There sure was for those coming out of Egypt…
YHVH does not repeat something over and over and over again, many times, just so people will add an unleavened cracker to their dinner plate during the Feast of Unleavened Bread.
The Feast of Unleavened Bread is about eating NOTHING but unleavened bread cakes in the same, exact way those Israelite’s who came out of Egypt did and sharing in their JOY of having been filled with YHVH’s Spirit for the obedience of turning to YHVH, keeping the Passover sacrifice in Egypt, and being then FREE from Bondage/Affliction of their Egyptian task masters and FREE to walk with YHVH into The Wilderness as a set apart people FREE from sin.
Those who observe a Sabbath “high” Feast day on the 1stand 7th days of Unleavened Bread have done well but they have also missed in the sharing of Freedom and the obedience of eating nothing but unleavened bread cakes just as the Israelite’s did so most miss the fine points of the Feast, what it is all about, being born again, and having been set FREE from bondage of sin and Satan to walk with YHVH in Righteousness.
Those in Judaism and most Messianic’s miss the point entirely because of faulty teachings that place First Fruits near the beginning or the middle of the Feast of Unleavened Bread and virtually all of them do not obey the commandment to eat nothing but unleavened bread. Why is this so? The answer I feel is correct is most of those teachers are attempting to do as little as possible to inconvenience their lives and the lives of those they hope to bring into their ministries, as possible, so they cheat the people out of the truth.
Only the Essenes’ appear to have realized the truth of eating nothing but unleavened bread for 7 days and then they chose to begin the omer count after the 1st weekly Sabbath after the completion of the 7 days of the Feast of Unleavened Bread. This is FAR BETTER but also incorrect according to the simple logic of Leviticus 23:14 and Joshua5:11
A careful, logical examination of Leviticus 23:14 and Joshua5:11 reveals there is no other truth/possibility other than eating nothing but unleavened bread cakes for those 7 full days. Those 2 verses also reveal there is no other possibility other than making the offering after the completion of the 7 days of the Feast of Unleavened Bread.
This is the reason the Greek word sumpleroo is used to describe the timing of Acts 2:1 It is only used 3 times from Matthew to Revelation the last one in Acts. It means completely full. The text does not say the first day of the week SUNday because Shavuot FULLY COME very rarely falls on that day. SUNday is just another day of the week that happens to be the day of SUN god worship to which Constantine and the Romans subscribed.
Just as Leviticus 23:14 and Joshua 5:11 indicate, we do not eat leavened bread (lechem) or parched grain or fresh grain during the 7 days of Unleavened Bread but after the offering is made the day after those 7 days then AND ONLY THEN do we eat whatever CLEAN food we want.
Of interesting mathematical note, it is exactly 70 days every year from Nissan 1 to Shavuot with the omer count adjusted to the 8th day after Passover. Also, you will find in some years it is exactly 2300 days from Shavuot FULLY COME to the Day of Atonement.
Unleavened bread is known as the Bread of Affliction. It represents the sinless state.
In modern times many in Judaism and many in Messianism look upon unleavened bread as the affliction or the command to eat unleavened bread as the affliction. No such thing is true. Eating nothing but unleavened bread cakes is PURE JOY and sharing in the sinless state of those Israelite’s who turned to YHVH, were washed with the blood of the Passover sacrifice, were filled with His Spirit, born again, and walked out of Egypt set apart and into The Wilderness and became the First Fruits on the 8th day as they got to the East side of the Red Sea and watched the High Priest wave his hand and the waters killed all their enemies. Mission complete. They were free to live set apart lives to YHVH. Isaiah 63 and Jeremiah 2.
Yeshua allowed Thomas to touch him on the 8th day, by the way, in places other than his feet… This was after Yeshua’s Ascension to Heaven where he walked on the Holy ground of Heaven, waved His offering as High Priest and then made the appropriate offerings as required by THE LAW as the duties of Levites and earthly high priest were all transferred to him to perform in Heaven.
You do not touch an anointed, CLEAN High Priest before he makes offerings for you!
John 20:26 And after eight days His disciples were again inside, and Thomas with them. Yeshua came, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, “Peace to you!”
Yeshua did not change a single stroke of THE LAW and has not until this very day nor will anything change in THE LAW until after heaven and earth pass away in Revelation 21.
It is exactly as Paul said:
Romans 7:1 Or do you not know, brethren (for I speak to those who know law), that THE LAW has dominion over a man as long as he lives?
Shavuot Shabbat Shalom!

Imagine what would have happened if those disciples of Yeshua had not waited until Shavuot was FULLY COME and had not kept Shavuot OBEDIENTLY AND QUIETLY in that upper room, as instructed, until the right moment? They would have missed the full power of YHVH’s Spirit if they had listened to the High Priest’s, Pharisee’s, Sadducee’s, or Essenes… Think very carefully about that aspect for a while… Shalom.
