This is what REAL Unleavened Bread looks like, folks!
It is not those little thin, tasteless, crackers you see all over the place.
They baked CAKES of unleavened bread:
Exodus 12:39 And they baked unleavened cakes of the dough which they had brought out of Egypt; for it was not leavened, because they were driven out of Egypt and could not wait, nor had they prepared provisions for themselves.
That is all they had to eat for at least 7 days and is all they had time to eat. To properly celebrate the Days of Unleavened Bread we enjoy eating with gladness only unleavened bread for 7 days.
That is a real, full sized plate that CAKE of unleavened bread is on, friends, just to give you an idea of the size of it 🙂
We baked that yesterday afternoon just for consuming last evening celebrating Passover. Tonight, we will bake more as we celebrate the Feast of Unleavened Bread and their arrival in Succoth for a few hours before setting out on one of the wildest adventures in the history of man.
The Children of Israel made this unleavened bread in Succoth after a good journey that day and they left a short while later.
Numbers 33:3 They departed from Rameses in the first month, on the fifteenth day of the first month; on the day after the Passover the children of Israel went out with boldness in the sight of all the Egyptians.
They were busy during the daytime of Passover making preparations for leaving, then that evening Pharoah called Moses and told them to get out of town. 🙂
A multitude of Gentile slaves and Egyptians went with them following after the most incredible things they had ever seen in their lives.
It took several days before the Egyptians and Pharoah decided to chase after them and by then the Children of Israel were a couple of hundred miles+ ahead of them.
People were extremely healthy from physical labor during those days…
Just a few bites of a dense, moist bread like that and I am stuffed. What a perfect bread for a walking journey!
Shalom!
PS… that is raw, dark, forest honey and Russian pickles in the background. The Russians really know how to make good pickles!
