The Renewed Moon was sighted, in Jerusalem at 6:20PM, this evening.
Would appear we are headed for a May Nissan 1 and Passover.
The logic behind this prediction is about 10 days must be given by the High Priest for all the Tribes to walk to Jerusalem. Roughly 7 days are needed for the barley harvest to be completed and stored.
Deuteronomy 16:13 requires that the Feast is always after the harvest.
Let’s assume these numbers:
4/10/2024 – Nissan 1 candidate
-7 DAYS
4/3/2024 – Last Tribes, furthest away from Jerusalem, would begin their harvests, threshing, storage
4/2-3/2024 The HIGH PRIEST announces the timing of the next Renewed Moon and whether it is to be ABIB or not ABIB
It is extremely important to remember that most planted barley fields, in Israel, are harvested, normally, in mid-late April.
Therefore, for April 10, 2024 to be declared as Nissan 1, the last week of the Barley Harvest, for the Tribes furthest away from Jerusalem, would have to begin their harvest no later than 4/2-3/2024, in order to be done and start the walk to Jerusalem on a 4/10/2024 Nissan 1. These Tribes would be the most Northern and North Eastern. Southern Tribes would have already started and perhaps completed their Barley Harvests and are much closer to Jerusalem so no issues there.
I think we can pretty safely estimate THE REAL PASSOVER will be in May 2024.
YHVH’s Feasts require all harvests to be complete before the respective Feast is held. That takes some thought and coordination between the High Priest and the farmers or a minister of Agriculture/heads of Tribes.
Leave no Tribe behind!
The decision of the High Priest cannot cause any Tribe to miss their harvest thus very good communication is necessary to ensure all Tribes do as well as possible in their harvests.
What I see lacking in Date Tree’s monitoring, is a planted barley field from the most Northern Tribe possible far North of the Sea of Galilee. You want a field from the location furthest away from Jerusalem, in order to ensure all the logistic requirements of the farmer’s are met so that calculations can be done in simulation of ancient Israel and all they had to deal with in determining the dates of YHVH’s Feasts.
Shalom!
