You’re a FARMER near Nazareth, near the Sea of Galilee, in the Tribe Naphtali.
You’re out in your barley field and the Barley is AVIV, full in the head, and the harvest is imminent, most likely just a couple weeks away, at the very most.
Then the runner/messenger from the High Priest comes, and Nissan 1 has been announced. The runner ran all night, so it is already daytime, of what is being proclaimed as Nissan 1, before he gets to Nazareth, then many local runners are sent to all the farms on their routes to alert everyone its time to go…
“Do you go to their Feast?” you ask yourself.
As a farmer, you know exactly when that barley will be ready to be harvested, within a day or two, at most. You know your barley will be ready to harvest while they are celebrating the first day of Unleavened Bread, 14 days later.
Nazareth is a 96 mile journey taking 7 days. You have 9 days to get to Jerusalem to SEQUESTER YOUR LAMB on the 10th of the month. You have to water and feed that little lamb, if you are taking a Lamb, one of your own, with you, otherwise, you buy one in Jerusalem, IF THERE ARE ANY LEFT BY THE TIME YOU GET THERE.
96 miles divided by 7 days = 13.71 miles per day. Its doable. If you take all 9 days, its only 10.666 miles per day walking over the hills and mountains.
That is if you go over the hills and mountains.
If you take the low land route by Caesarea and Joppa, the journey is 117 miles = 16.7 miles per day. You can walk faster but the trip is warmer so you will need more water.
And OF COURSE, 1 of those days will be THE SABBATH. Are you going to walk all day on the Sabbath? Or stay camped by the road/path?
You feel sorry for your cousins in Dan, in Northern Naphtali, whose journey is 176 miles.
They also have just 9 days to get to Jerusalem, or 13 days if they do not get to Jerusalem on Nissan 10 to sequester their Lamb, but of course if they take the full 13 days they must bring their lamb with them.
176 miles divided by 9 days = 19.55 miles per day and that is the lowland route. 176miles/13days = 13.54 miles per day for 13 straight days! And, AT LEAST, 1 of those days is a Sabbath, if not 2 days!
“Do you go to their Feast?” you ask yourself.
“OF COURSE NOT!” you reply.
The High Priest miscalculated again, obviously.
The High Priest also did not consider the written Torah when he made his decision to announce Nissan 1.
The Scripture is VERY CLEAR, that all the Barley Harvest in Israel must be complete before all the people are gathered to Jerusalem, FOR SEVERAL WRITTEN, SCRIPTURAL REASONS.
- Chief of those reasons is, if the High Priest declares the Feast too early, then the Harvest will not be done and some or most of the Tribes will show up EMPTY HANDED because they did not get to harvest their barley in order to be able to present their offering/tithe at the Temple, during the Appointed Time/Day:
Deuteronomy 16:16
“Three times a year all your males shall appear before YHVH your God in the place which He chooses: at the Feast of Unleavened Bread, at the Feast of Weeks, and at the Feast of Tabernacles; and they shall not appear before YHVH EMPTY-HANDED.
What happens to people who show up to the Feast EMPTY-HANDED?
Numbers 9:13
But the man who is clean and is not on a journey, and ceases to keep the Passover, that same person shall be CUT OFF from among his people, because he did not bring the offering of YHVH at its appointed time; that man shall bear his sin.
What else happens if the people from the Tribes show up to the Feast EMPTY-HANDED ???
The High Priest, his sons, and all the Levite’s, and all their families, will not have food, BECAUSE those tithe offerings, of the harvests, are for them so they will all have food to eat. And those tithe offerings are also for the homeless and destitute… The Priests/Levite’s distribute those foods to the poor in addition to what them and their families consume.
Think about the RIDICULOUSNESS of this typical, early Spring Feast scenario, for a few moments. THINK VERY CAREFULLY…
The High Priests and Levites, hold all the events of Passover, Unleavened Bread, and FirstFruits – the 8th Day, AND THEY GET ABSOLUTELY NO TITHE/OFFERINGS FROM THE PEOPLE!
So the People are then free to journey back home and perform their Barley Harvest THEN eat their Barley Harvest and they do not return to Jerusalem for 50 more days. What are the High Priests, and Levites, and all their families eating during those 50 days???
Are the High Priests and Levite’s ordering take out from McDonald’s or from the Jewish delicatessen?
NOW, take a look at Deuteronomy 16:3 and see it is a complimentary verse to Deuteronomy 16:16. We get one piece of evidence in Deuteronomy 16:3 then another piece of evidence in Deuteronomy 16:16 and you have to logically join the Truth in those two verses in order to have insight into all the verses about the Feasts of YHVH:
So, there is ZERO possibility that the Fall Feast of YHVH could be in the month of September or even in early October.
So, since the Fall Feast of YHVH is AFTER the Fall harvest, then the Fall Feasts of YHVH have to always be in late October or November. That was pretty simple, wasn’t it?
What else determines exactly when the Fall Feast of Tabernacles is held? Answer: the High Priest must give all the Tribes of Israel the necessary time to walk from their homes to Jerusalem and if you live in Northern Israel the walk may take as much as 7-10 days. It would surely take the full 10 days, to walk from what is now the country of Jordan, to Jerusalem where the Temple is located. We are talking about a walk of 100 or more miles. Obviously, the people are not going to ride animals to Jerusalem because there would not be stables to stall and food to feed all those animals and walking animals do not go much faster than walking humans anyway.
So, lets say the harvest is 100% done on October 15th. All the grain has been harvested from the fields and threshed on the threshing floor and stored for the Winter, and you set aside 10% of the grain for your Tithe to the Priest’s/Levite’s in Jerusalem and YHVH has clearly blessed your family so you set aside another 2% for offerings to YHVH, during the Feast. Your wine vineyard is not very big but it has all been pressed and stored in clay bottles, sealed and fermenting. You sold 10% of your wine, yesterday, in the local market to the city folk, and you are taking the proceeds to Jerusalem and will deliver part of it to the Priest’s and part of it to one of the Judges who will distribute the money to the poor, or widows, or orphans. Last Spring, there was one particular Gentile, grafted-in, convert who helped you carry things up the last big hill to Jerusalem, and you want to bless him and see how he is doing, and make sure he is provided for and not wanting.
So, this year, the Fall harvest was done on October 15, and the High Priest declared October 18/19 as Day of Trumpets, at the evening’s Renewed Moon sighting. This means Day of Atonement is October 27/28 and First Day of Sukkot is November 1/2.
Your son Joshua comes running up to you, all excited, he started home school with mom just a year ago, he’s 7, and he holds up the fingers on both hands and shouts:
“Dad, I got it!”
You say “Got what, son?”
Joshua says “I figured out how to calculate the Spring Feast BACKWARDS from Day of Trumpets!
You say “OK, show me”
Joshua holds up 7 fingers, and you grin widely, and he sees how proud you are of him and he says:
“7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1”
And you say “What does that mean?”
Joshua says:
“7, November,
6, October,
5, September,
4, August,
3, July,
2, June,
1, May, so mathematically, Passover had to be in May, no question about it!”
You say “Excellent son, except for one small thing…”
Joshua says “What’s that, dad?”
You say “Those months don’t exist and they won’t exist for over another 1,000 years till the Romans conquer our ancestors”
Joshua says: “Oh yeah, that’s right, I had just been reading one of those prophetic books and simulating future events”
You give Joshua a big hug and say “That’s my boy!”
Math so easy, a first grader can do it with 7 fingers…
So, how come all the Jewish and Messianic theologians, all the Jewish Rabbi/Pharisee types, and Messianic pastor/teachers have missed these very simple logic and calculations, for almost 2,000 years?
Very simple dear Watson, they do not think much when they read the Scriptures.
We have a plague among those who have set themselves up as teachers! Many of them, or most of them, if not all of them, have set themselves up as teachers rather than submitting themselves to the written Torah/Righteousness, and living it and studying it all day every day just like Psalms 1:1-3 instructs all true believers to do.
This plague of the mind is very clearly written in Isaiah 29:9-16.
NOW, look at this verse, very carefully:
Leviticus 23:14
You shall eat neither bread nor parched grain nor fresh grain
until the same day that you have brought an offering to your God;
IT SHALL BE A STATUTE FOREVER
throughout your generations in all your dwellings.
Congratuations! The High Priest just broke the FOREVER STATUTE.
And since there was NO HARVEST, no one is going to be fulfilling Leviticus 23:14 to eat bread/LECHEM H3899, or parched grain, or fresh grain, ON THAT DAY, after all the FirstFruits activities, at the Temple are done.
Think much, you Levitie’s?
Leviticus 23:14 states very clearly that you can eat the new Barley Harvest AFTER the offering of FirstFruits! But if no one in Israel brings the tithe/offering of their harvests then how in the world are they going to then eat the grain of the new Barley Harvest?
SEE THE PROBLEM NOW?
“Do you go to their Feast?” you ask yourself.
“OF COURSE NOT!” you reply.
Israel is being led by a High Priest who does not know the written Torah better than an average farmer! Or 5th grader…
Maybe you make up some excuse that you were unclean, so you stay home to complete your harvest and you go to the “second Passover”? And then you rush back just in time to do your wheat harvest before Shavuot…
SEE THE PROBLEM NOW? SEE IT YET?
Do we need more reasons?
- The written Torah tells us very precisely you will not hold the Feast until all the barley farmers have completed their harvest:
Leviticus 23:9-10
9 And YHVH spoke to Moses, saying,
10 “Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them:
‘When you come into the land which I give to you,
AND REAP ITS HARVEST,
THEN,
you shall bring a sheaf of the firstfruits of your harvest to the priest.
In what TWILIGHT ZONE does “REAP THE HARVEST” mean not to fully complete the Harvest?
In what TWILIGHT ZONE does “REAP THE HARVEST” mean to PARTIALLY complete the Harvest?
In what TWILIGHT ZONE does “REAP THE HARVEST” mean to do NONE of the Harvest?
Do you realize yet how complacency, and ignorance, have taken over the people who teach and claim to keep Torah?
Complacency and ignorance, and lack of due diligence is what most people follow because they do not read the written Torah enough to know better.
I’ve read the written Torah hundreds of times. I’ve studied every word, every phrase, every verse, hundreds of times. And I keep doing it, all the time, every day, every week, every month, every year.
Reading the written Torah HUNDREDS OF TIMES is my due diligence as a believer and disciple seeking eternal life and is required of EVERYONE who claims YHVH and His Son.
If you do not believe me, then read Psalms 1:1-3 and then tell me what you do all night and day, and on the Sabbath.
What do you do with the thousands of hours of free time you have each and every year?
Watch TV, OR, read the written Torah?
What will be exposed about you at The Judgment?
Psalm 1:1-3
1 Blessed is the man
Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly,
Nor stands in the path of sinners,
Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;
2 But his delight is in the Torah of YHVH,
And in His Torah he meditates day and night.
3 He shall be like a tree
Planted by the rivers of water,
That brings forth its fruit in its season,
Whose leaf also shall not wither;
And whatever he does shall prosper.
Is that you, or somebody else?
- If you are a barley farmer in Nazareth who has to walk his family 96 miles to Jerusalem, you are gone from your farm A MINIMUM of 27-29 days, to Jerusalem, and back:
7 days walk to get to Jerusalem
1 day – Sequester the Lamb
3 days rest and recuperate, prepare for Passover
1 day – Passover
7 days – Unleavened Bread
1 day = First Fruits, Sabbath
7 days return to Nazareth
Do the math.
27 days minimum you are leaving your farm. Its the males who are required to be in Jerusalem for the Feasts. Who is at home taking care of the animals and watching over the fields?
- Do you now grasp WHY most of the churches of Revelation, in Revelation 2 & 3, are targeted by YHVH and His Son Yeshua as stiff necked people who do not keep ALL the written Torah?
Revelation 2:5
Remember therefore from where you have fallen;
REPENT AND DO THE FIRST WORKS,
or else I will come to you quickly
and remove your lampstand from its place,
UNLESS YOU REPENT.
Numbers 9:13
But the man who is clean and is not on a journey,
and ceases to keep the Passover,
that same person shall be CUT OFF from among his people,
because he did not bring the offering of YHVH at its appointed time; that man shall bear his sin.
ALMOST NO ONE brings the offering at the APPOINTED TIME.
ALMOST NO ONE keeps the Passover at the correct time.
And far less people keep FirstFruits at the APPOINTED TIME because FirstFruits is ALWAYS the day after the 7 Days of Unleavened Bread:

I pray the hundreds of thousands/millions of my brethren, who claim to keep the written Torah, WILL WAKE UP BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE FOR THEM!
Shabbat Shalom!
PS….
This article is also an Infallible Proof that Passover is only held after the Barley Harvest is 100% complete, processed, and stored. This article works via Scripture, from the other end of YHVH’s Fast, Tabernacles/Sukkot, and proves mathematically that all of Israel and most Messianic Torah Observant people are holding YHVH’s Feasts at the wrong time: https://thechurchofacts.com/2024/03/25/tabernacles-sukkot-does-not-begin-until-the-wine-and-grain-harvests-are-complete/
