The only way to keep the 7 Days of Unleavened Bread is to keep it like the Israelite’s who came out of Egypt were commanded and instructed to keep it.
They got the commandment from Moses to pack and leave Egypt and they left within an hour or so.
They did not have time to pack provisions:
Exodus 12:39
39 And they baked unleavened cakes of the dough which they had brought out of Egypt; for it was not leavened, because they were driven out of Egypt and could not wait, nor had they prepared provisions for themselves.
Imagine what it was like for them.
All the first born of Egypt die during the night the same night they have killed, cooked, eaten the Passover, and burned what remained. Then they hear the horrible cries from the Egyptian houses and not a single house was left untouched among the Egyptians! And before dawn, Moses is summoned by Pharaoh and told to get out of Egypt. Moses then sends messengers to all the various places Israelite’s lived in Egypt and they are commanded to make UNLEAVENED BREAD CAKES and LEAVE IMMEDIATELY! Some of them had some carts and they all had animals. They had few possessions, no refrigerators stocked with food and even if they had food they did not have the time to prepare anything except the dough of UNLEAVENED BREAD CAKES.
Was that a shock to them?
Not at all.
In those days, you knew the stories of CAKES about when YHVH and two of His Angels visited Abraham and Sarah. It was a very common thing for travelers to pack unleavened bread cakes to eat on a long journey.
If you are really hungry, a simple UNLEAVENED BREAD CAKE is easy/quick to make, very dense, nutritious, filling, and simple.
1 Kings 17:13
13 And Elijah said to her, “Do not fear; go and do as you have said, but make me a small cake from it first, and bring it to me; and afterward make some for yourself and your son.
When we keep and celebrate the Feast of Shavuot, we are supposed to do it exactly the same way the Israelite’s did it.
When we keep and celebrate the Feast and 7 Days of Unleavened Bread, we are supposed to do it exactly the same way the Israelite’s did it coming out of Egypt.
We honor YHVH and His Commandments by simply doing what He instructed Moses to tell the Israelite’s to do and HOW he did it, the WAY He did it, and celebrate the timing of WHY He did it to show all Israel they were to wait on YHVH and be ready to GO when He said GO.
The 7 Days of Unleavened Bread is not merely about eating nothing but UNLEAVENED BREAD CAKES for 7 days. It is about being UNLEAVENED BREAD which represents sinless-ness and perfect, total obedience.
The Israelite’s obeyed that commandment, walked 7 days to the Red Sea then crossed over the Red Sea on dry ground on the 8th Day and became FirstFruits:
Jeremiah 2:3
3 Israel was holiness to YHVH,
The FIRSTFRUITS of His increase.
All that devour him will offend;
Disaster will come upon them,” says YHVH.’”
But then:
Hosea 9:10
10 “I found Israel
Like grapes in the wilderness;
I saw your fathers
As the FIRSTFRUITS on the fig tree in its first season.
But they went to Baal Peor,
And separated themselves to that shame;
They became an abomination like the thing they loved.
Israel obeyed YHVH those 8 days, was highly cherished, then fell into disobedience in the wilderness.
We are to study and meditate on all THE LAW, each of us individually, until we know it perfectly and DO it Righteously and Blamelessly.
That is what the Faith IS and that is the Faith God’s Son lived.
It is not that hard to DO if we seek The Way of YHVH with all our heart, mind, soul, and strength, and the major portion of our time to quickly learn how to keep His Torah and serve Him.
Shalom!
