Most people do not realize Moses explained the New Covenant and its timeline.
Most people think only Jeremiah mentions the New Covenant.
Moses mentions BOTH Covenants. And Jeremiah mentions BOTH as well.
THE LAW is the same in both Covenants. But in the New Covenant the implementation of THE LAW is VASTLY DIFFERENT.
Moses mentions in Deuteronomy about the bringing of ALL Israel back to Israel from where they have been dispersed all over the world. This includes all the Tribes, not just Judah. We don’t even have all of Judah there now… Read all of Deuteronomy 30. Then back up a chapter and read all of it also to get an appropriate sense of the timeline.
Deuteronomy 30:6 And YHVH your God will circumcise your heart and the heart of your descendants, to love YHVH your God with all your heart and with all your soul, that you may live.
YHVH circumcises hearts AFTER all Israel has returned to Israel. ALL Israel. Not just a little bit of Israel but ALL Israel.
Jeremiah mentions the same, exact events and with even more details.
Jeremiah 31:33 But this is the Covenant that I will make with the House of Israel after those days, says YHVH: I will put My LAW in their minds, and write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.
In The Covenant we do the writing on our hearts, minds, hands, houses and various other places. In The Covenant we see believers circumcise their own hearts and they keep YHVH’s Word/LAW/Commandments in their heart. That is their responsibility under The Covenant. Deuteronomy 10:16, Deuteronomy 32:46 and many other places.
In the New Covenant, YHVH does ALL the writing.
Repeat… In the New Covenant, YHVH does ALL the writing.
In the mouth of 2 Witnesses things are established…
Notice Jeremiah 31:33 says “AFTER THOSE DAYS”.
That means all those events in Jeremiah 30 and Jeremiah 31:1-30 have to take place BEFORE YHVH writes His LAW into anyone in the New Covenant.
But what about Jeremiah 31:29-30 ?
Jeremiah 31:29-30 In those days they shall say no more:
‘The fathers have eaten sour grapes,
And the children’s teeth are set on edge.’
30 But every one shall die for his own iniquity;
Every man who eats the sour grapes,
His teeth shall be set on edge.
How does that fit into the timeline?
That is The Judgment.
If you study out what the sour grapes are you will find they are SINs that have to be accounted for at The Judgment.
Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this The Judgment.
Look at Jeremiah 31:30 and Hebrews 9:27 closely. That is the time frame of The Judgment!
All people who have not lived Righteously and Blamelessly pay the ultimate price at The Judgment.
Well, thanks to the Apostle John we know exactly when The Judgment is, don’t we?
The Judgment is at the end of the 7th Millennium, or 1000 years, after Satan is unleashed again and defeated.
And what does the next verse in Hebrews say?
Hebrews 9:28 so Messiah was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.
Therefore, we see exactly when salvation occurs in the timeline… AFTER The Judgment.
Those who eagerly wait for Messiah let nothing get in their way to OVERCOME SIN and have spotless garments.
Revelation 3:21 To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.
1 John 3:2 Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.
Revelation 3:21 makes it TOTALLY CLEAR true believers are required to OVERCOME just like Messiah overcome.
How?
By keeping the Sabbath and all THE LAW, always being ready to DO The Will of his Father, and that causes us to be the IMAGE of Messiah and His Father. Are we perfect? Nope. But Perfect comes when YHVH writes into us after The Judgment. Then we are like His Son and we live in the New Jerusalem with Him.
It is a REQUIREMENT from Messiah’s own mouth to overcome just as he overcame! Revelation 3:21
Both Deuteronomy and Jeremiah contain the exact timeline but few have seen it.
All men are appointed to die and are judged according to The Covenant (Torah), what they did or didn’t DO.
Those who pass The Judgment enter into the New Covenant/New Jerusalem.
As Paul said, it is like a race and Paul worked very hard to make sure he was not disqualified…
Shalom!
