The definition of what God’s biblical love IS can never change. It has been since the beginning of eternity and will always be throughout all eternity.
In the scriptures, LOVE is defined as keeping the Commandments of YHVH. In essence it is always doing exactly what YHVH God the Father says to do and he said that exact thing through the mouth of His Son in John 15:14
Deuteronomy 11:1 Therefore you shall love YHVH your God, and keep His charge, His statutes, His judgments, and His commandments always.
So, when we read 1 Corinthians 13, to understand what is being said we must enter the definition of God’s LOVE or else we could get off track and miss the mark!
We know for a fact that IF we do not steal from our neighbor, THEN we are in effect loving our neighbor.
We know for a fact that IF we do not commit adultery with our neighbor’s wife THEN we are loving our neighbor.
We know for a fact that IF we do not bear false witness against our neighbor THEN we are loving our neighbor.
We know for a fact that IF our neighbor lacks food to eat and we give them food THEN we are loving our neighbor.
Leviticus 25:35 If one of your brethren becomes poor, and falls into poverty among you, then you shall help him, like a stranger or a sojourner, that he may live with you.
Leviticus 19:18 You shall not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the children of your people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am YHVH.
YHVH’s Commandments are always in front of us and plainly written. Following him and doing what He says to DO is the True Faith, not anything else.
That is what LOVE IS.
Shalom!
